Eliot Rupe leads PathLight after two decades in Air Force Special Operations as a Pararescueman, retiring in 2026. He also serves as a teaching elder, work that often includes short-term biblical counseling for individuals, couples, and organizations.

Following Christ begins with the gospel. Jesus Christ died for sinners and rose from the dead. God saves by grace through faith, calling us to repentance and a life under Christ's lordship. That life is received as a gift, and following Him can be costly.
Every leader is already being formed by something. Left alone, that something is usually the surrounding culture — absorbed by default, and mistaken for common sense by the time it is load-bearing. This framework grew out of years of watching that kind of disorder up close, and it starts from a different question: not what the culture assumes, but what Scripture actually requires.
Rightly Ordered Leadership helps people consider how that calling reaches identity, relationships, family, church, and work. The Fountain below is a teaching aid for that calling, not a ladder of spiritual maturity.
The Fountain
Christ at the source, flowing out through identity, marriage and purity, family, church, and vocation — the same framework applied at every stage of life. To the student preparing for what's next. To the emerging leader stepping into real responsibility. To the one further along, handing off what they've built. Faithful singleness and differing family circumstances belong within this understanding of discipleship.
Good feedback begins with an accurate account of what happened, then asks what Scripture actually requires — distinguishing a biblical command from an application or a local preference. A useful conversation includes honest questions and the willingness to reconsider.

James 1:2–4 teaches that the testing of faith produces endurance. Following Christ can require patience, sacrifice, and obedience when life is difficult. We seek that faithfulness with prayer, wise care, and support from others, and training practices stay accountable to the people entrusted to us. A rightly ordered life is a hopeful one, always ready to give an answer for the hope that is in you (1 Peter 3:15).
